Roles and Permissions

Roles give you a flexible way to assign different functions and access levels to staff members. For example, some staff members may only handle sales conversations while others manage social media. Roles can also include specific permission settings to control access to certain information or data.

Create a role

Navigate to Settings > Account > Roles and Permissions.

To get started with creating a role, first click on the "Settings" menu from your dashboard. Then click on "Roles and Permissions" under "Account."

Give the role a name and a description that clearly explains what function it serves. You can also set a role as the default for new staff members by selecting the checkbox beneath the role description.

Set permissions

When creating or editing a role, you can configure the following permissions:

  • Manage staff
  • Manage account settings, including channels, workflows, and templates
  • Manage account subscription and payment
  • Manage topics and articles
  • Access and serve live chat
  • Access account reports
  • Restricted access to specific channels, which limits a role to only the channels you specify
